These terms apply to consumer purchases through our website. For business orders or separately quoted projects, any additional terms will be agreed before the order is accepted.

Our products

We sell handmade metal products, including table legs, shelf brackets, sign brackets, workshop storage, fire pits and decorative metalwork.

Please read the product description before ordering. Each listing explains the available dimensions, finishes, quantities and included accessories. Do not assume that screws, fixings or other accessories are included unless the listing states this.

Handmade products may have minor variations in appearance. Raw steel may show manufacturing marks or surface oxidation where described in the listing. Screen settings can affect how colours appear.

These characteristics do not limit your right to receive goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Orders and payment

Please check your selected product, size, finish, quantity and delivery address before paying.

Payment is taken using the payment methods available at checkout. An automated order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order; it does not, by itself, mean that we have accepted it.

We accept your order when we send a dispatch confirmation, or when we expressly confirm acceptance of a custom order.

If we cannot accept an order—for example, because a product is unavailable or there is a genuine pricing error—we will contact you and refund any payment taken. We will not substitute a product or charge a higher price without your agreement.

Prices

Prices and delivery charges are displayed before payment. Prices include applicable VAT where required.

We may change prices for future orders. Changes will not alter the agreed price of an order we have already accepted.

Discounts apply according to the conditions shown with the offer.

Custom orders

For bespoke work, we will confirm the agreed dimensions, finish, fixing arrangements, price and expected production time before accepting the order.

Please check these details carefully. We will manufacture the product to the specifications we agree with you.

If you request changes after acceptance, we will explain any effect on price or production time and obtain your agreement before proceeding.

Goods made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised may be excluded from change-of-mind cancellation. Selecting a standard listed size, colour or finish does not, by itself, create this exclusion.

Your rights concerning faulty or incorrectly supplied goods still apply.

Processing and delivery

Standard processing normally takes 1–4 working days after payment, unless the listing states otherwise. Custom production times are agreed separately.

Delivery normally takes a further 2–4 working days after dispatch for both UK and Republic of Ireland orders.

UK standard delivery is free, using Royal Mail or Parcelforce. Republic of Ireland delivery uses An Post, with charges displayed at checkout.

These times are estimates. If an order is delayed, missing or damaged in transit, contact us so we can investigate and provide an appropriate resolution.

Goods remain our responsibility until they are delivered to you or a person you nominate, subject to any applicable legal exception.

Please read our Shipping policy for full details.

Installation and safe use

Products must be installed and used appropriately for their intended purpose. The suitability of brackets and legs depends on factors including the supporting surface, fixings, dimensions and load.

Follow any instructions supplied. If you are unsure about installation or suitability, contact us before ordering or obtain advice from a competent installer.

Do not assume a load rating unless one is expressly stated for the relevant product and installation conditions.

We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modification or incorrect installation that is unrelated to a defect in the product or our instructions. This does not limit your statutory rights.

Cancellations, returns and refunds

Our Returns and Refunds policy explains your cancellation rights, return procedure and refund arrangements.

For eligible standard online purchases, you normally have 14 days after the day you receive your goods to notify us that you wish to cancel, followed by another 14 days to return them.

The buyer pays return postage for change-of-mind returns. We cover reasonable return costs where goods are faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or not as described.

Sale items retain the same statutory rights as full-price products.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Your statutory rights concerning product quality, description, fitness for purpose, delivery and refunds remain unaffected.

Privacy and website use

Our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

You must not use our website for unlawful purposes, interfere with its security or infringe another person’s rights.

Our website content belongs to us or our licensors. You may use it for personal shopping purposes but may not reproduce it commercially without permission.

Complaints

Please email sales@vdsmetalworks.co.uk with your order number and details of the issue. We will investigate and work with you to resolve it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future orders. The terms in force when you place your order will apply to that order unless we agree a change with you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.

This does not remove any mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring proceedings in courts available to you under applicable law, including where you live in the Republic of Ireland.
